Book your Maiolica Experience
Step inside a traditional Florentine ceramic studio and experience the beauty of Tuscan craftsmanship as you paint your own maiolica plate using authentic, time honored designs. In this small, intimate group setting, you'll be guided step by step by a Master Ceramist- no prior experience needed. This is a calm hands on experience designed for anyone who wants to slow down, get creative, and take home a truly personal souvenir from Florence.
During the workshop you'll be introduced to the history of Tuscan maiolica, choose from a selection of traditional patterns, and enjoy a guided painting session in an authentic studio environment. At the end you will have a unique piece that reflects both local tradition and your own touch.
Plate will be professionally glazed and fired.

Weekly Ceramics Courses
My ceramics courses are more then just a place to learn pottery- they are an opportunity to slow down, work with your hands, and become part of a creative community in Florence.
Located near Piazza Beccaria, the studio welcomes locals, international students, and expats looking for an authentic artistic experience in a relaxed environment. Whether you are completely new to ceramics or already have experience, the courses are personalized and designed to help you develop your creativity at your own pace while sharing the space with like-minded people.
Many students join not only to learn traditional ceramic techniques, but also to meet new people, practice Italian and build meaningful connections through creativity. The studio atmosphere is informal, welcoming, and centered around craftsmanship, conversation, and community.
Courses are hand-building amongst other traditional techniques. I offer flexible memberships for both short term and long term students.
My New Book
I am proud to announce that my book, "Dei Vasi e dei Vasari," is hot off the presses!
I will be hosting a presentation at my studio Friday June 26th at 18:00. I look forward to sharing this labor of love with all of you!

Argillà Biennale d'Arte ceramica

e ben trovati,
spero
che le Vostre vacanze siano state tranquille e riposanti o pazze e trasgressive
a seconda delle necessita' e inclinazioni....
Noi siamo tornati la notte scorsa e già' e' tutto un fermento di progetti:
durante il nostro viaggio abbiamo fatto tappa ad Albissola e nella mitica
Vallauris dove un tale di nome Picasso, anni fa, si dilettava come noi, di
ceramica... infine una bella scoperta di J. Cocteau ceramista nel museo a lui
dedicato a Menton... Di tutto questo vi racconterò' e a breve.
Ma prima di tutto questo volevo ricordarvi l'appuntamento per questo Sabato
6.9.2014 alla imperdibile Biennale di Arte ceramica di Faenza una delle capitali mondiali della maiolica. Anche quest'anno molti sono gli eventi anche :
- ARGILLÀ:
mostra-mercato nei giorni 5 (pomeriggio), 6 e 7 settembre 2014, lungo le strade
del Centro Storico di Faenza, con 160 espositori provenienti dalle città della
ceramica italiane, francesi, tedesche, spagnole, olandesi, austriache, croate,
slovene e di altre nazioni europee.
- Eventi
culturali e collaterali: la città, attraverso le proprie strutture (Museo
Internazionale delle Ceramiche, Palazzo delle Esposizioni, associazioni
artigiane e culturali, AICC, Istituto Statale d’Arte Gaetano Ballardini,
I.S.I.A., ecc.), diventerà il teatro per la realizzazione, nel periodo
dell’evento, di mostre, esposizioni ed animazioni.
- Mondialtornianti
– L’oro del vasaio :
spettacolare manifestazione dedicata ad artigiani del settore con avvincenti
prove di tecniche, abilità e creatività.
- EU-Raku:
sfida europea all’ultimo raku: una competizione ceramica raku, su invito,
dedicata nel 2014 a ceramisti europei, a cura dei maestri Goffredo Gaeta ed
Arturo Saccone.
Si
parte quindi da Firenze Santa Maria Novella alle 9.40. Durata del viaggio 1 ora
e 50 min. Arriviamo alle 11.24. Costo del biglietto di
sola andata è 9,05 Euro.
Ci vedremo al binario con biglietto gia' fatto
Per
il ritorno ci sono treni alle 16.16 e alle 18.23. Questi treni fermano anche a
S.Marco Vecchio e alle Caldine.
Portate macchine fotografiche e un ombrello perché ci potrebbe
essere qualche" pioggerella alternata a schiarite" (secondo le
previsioni di oggi da verificare tra 2 o 3 giorni) e frittata di
maccheroni come nelle gite scolastiche dei bei tempi andati...
Portate soprattutto buonumore e curiosità' perché' negli altri anni
la mostra e' stata interessantissima e le ispirazioni tantissime.
