Book your Maiolica Experience

Step inside a traditional Florentine ceramic studio and experience the beauty of Tuscan craftsmanship as you paint your own maiolica plate using authentic, time honored designs. In this small, intimate group setting, you'll be guided step by step by a Master Ceramist- no prior experience needed. This is a calm hands on experience designed for anyone who wants to slow down, get creative, and take home a truly personal souvenir from Florence. During the workshop you'll be introduced to the history of Tuscan maiolica, choose from a selection of traditional patterns, and enjoy a guided painting session in an authentic studio environment. At the end you will have a unique piece that reflects both local tradition and your own touch. Plate will be professionally glazed and fired. Please contact me for availability.

Weekly Ceramics Courses

My ceramics courses are more then just a place to learn pottery- they are an opportunity to slow down, work with your hands, and become part of a creative community in Florence. Located near Piazza Beccaria, the studio welcomes locals, international students, and expats looking for an authentic artistic experience in a relaxed environment. Whether you are completely new to ceramics or already have experience, the courses are personalized and designed to help you develop your creativity at your own pace while sharing the space with like-minded people. Many students join not only to learn traditional ceramic techniques, but also to meet new people, practice Italian and build meaningful connections through creativity. The studio atmosphere is informal, welcoming, and centered around craftsmanship, conversation, and community. Courses are hand-building amongst other traditional techniques. I offer flexible memberships for both short term and long term students.

My New Book

I am proud to announce that my book, "Dei Vasi e dei Vasari," is hot off the presses! I will be hosting a presentation at my studio Friday June 26th at 18:00. I look forward to sharing this labor of love with all of you!

Reviews

I feel truly honored and proud to see so many wonderful reviews of my studio. Every review means a lot to me because it reflects not only the work I do, but also the connections and experiences shared with the people who visit my studio. I consider myself very fortunate; I have the privilege of doing a job I genuinely love in the extraordinary city of Florence. Everyday I am privileged to meet fascinating people from all over the world. Each encounter brings new stories, perspectives, and inspiration. To everyone who has taken the time to leave a review, share their experience, or support my work: thank you. Your words motivate me to keep improving and to continue pursuing my passion. I am deeply grateful for your trust and support.

Open Studio Weekend

Officina Ceramica is very happy to partecipe in this beautiful project of Lost I Florence!

Lost In Florence celebrates the best venues in the city and beyond the obvious, the little back streets and studios you want to discover and get lost in… Open Studio Weekend is our first 2-day event giving you access into unique spaces in Florence; some hidden and normally not open to the public, others are to be discovered and open especially for this event. All spaces are worth visiting to experience this unique side of Florence life.

12 unique studios are taking part and your free downloadable map is designed for you to take a tour of Florence by visiting all 12 studios, like a magically mystery trail where you can be led to secret courtyards, old convents, to press a buzzer which opens the grand door into a wondrous palace...but only for two days on the weekend of Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 October 2014. All studios are open from 12pm until 6pm, and we have added suggested pitstops for wine or café along the way.

So come join us, see inside these studio spaces and meet the artisans too. I hope you enjoy getting ‘Lost in Florence’ as much as I do!
