Weekly Ceramics Courses

My ceramics courses are more then just a place to learn pottery- they are an opportunity to slow down, work with your hands, and become part of a creative community in Florence. Located near Piazza Beccaria, the studio welcomes locals, international students, and expats looking for an authentic artistic experience in a relaxed environment. Whether you are completely new to ceramics or already have experience, the courses are personalized and designed to help you develop your creativity at your own pace while sharing the space with like-minded people. Many students join not only to learn traditional ceramic techniques, but also to meet new people, practice Italian and build meaningful connections through creativity. The studio atmosphere is informal, welcoming, and centered around craftsmanship, conversation, and community. Courses are hand-building amongst other traditional techniques. I offer flexible memberships for both short term and long term students.

The goat cup from Shahr-i Sokhta dates back to around 2800 BC and is one of the most famous artifacts of ancient Iran. The cup shows several images of a goat jumping toward a tree. When the cup is rotated, the figures appear to move, creating an effect similar to animation. For this reason, it is considered one of the earliest examples of depicting movement.
